Katniss/Peeta. “You will always go into that tent. You will see her scar and wonder where she got it. You will always be amazed at how one woman can have so much black hair. You will always fall in love, and it will always be like having your throat cut, just that fast. You will always run away with her. You will always lose her. You will always be a fool. You will always be dead, in a city of ice, snow falling into your ear. You have already done all of this and will do it again.” (Deathless)
cato/katniss, am i a bet? AM I A FUCKING BET?
Oh god yes. For all that is holy in 90s teen romcoms.

Seneca/Cinna, we were never supposed to fall in love.
finnick/victor!glimmer, i'm your national anthem, god you're so handsome
!!!!!
finnick/johanna, i even loved a few times in my disgusting human way.
peeta/prim or gale/prim, the only girl i've ever loved / was born with roses in her eyes / but then they buried her alive / one evening, 1945 / with just her sister at her side / and only weeks before the guns / all came and rained on everyone. [song]
peeta/johanna, he is the lamb, she is the slaughter / (die young and save yourself) [song]
katniss/peeta, who is the lamb and who is the knife?
finnick/johanna, some girls like to pray / but my girl takes her drinks with dust and rusty razor blades
Haymitch / Effie, and as for some happy ending, I'd rather stay single and thin
. . . this leaves me wanting an X-Files crossover.

Katniss, your shadow weighs a ton
Finnick, he's as damned as he seems/and more heaven than a heart could hold
I LOVE THIS SONG! And I love you for this prompt!
Victors, they smiled real wide for the camera lenses/they made it past enemy lines to become enslaved in the assembly lines
Ugh, excellent prompt.
Katniss, she's the kind of girl you want so much it makes you sorry
Mags + Finnick || story books are full of fairy tales. of kings and queens and the bluest skies. my heart is torn just in knowing, you'll someday see the truth from lies
Mags + Finnick, Sea Tales, PG

“I don’t want to die, Mags.” Finnick sits in the middle of his bed, knees upthrust and arms wrapped around, so young that he isn’t anywhere near finished growing yet. So lost and alone – they all are, even the ones who think they’re not, the ones who work for the title “Career Tribute” – that the bed nearly swallows him whole.

He did everything right in his interview. Charmed Flickerman, the audience, all of Panem, just as she told him he should. It was easy for him, that charm, that innocence. He already has them eating out of his hands, she thinks, but he doesn’t even know it. Money from sponsors is already rising like a full-moon tide, all because the Capitol has fallen in love with this beautiful boy. It breaks her heart, knowing that if he lives, they’ll eat him alive.

“We all die, child.”

“You didn’t.”

She cocks her head to the side. “There is death, Finnick, and there is death. Sometimes it’s hard to tell them apart.” The boy just looks at her like she’s insane; maybe she is. “Lay down and close your eyes.” He shrugs and does as she tells him. She pulls the covers over him and sits down beside him on the bed, strokes his hair. She smiles. “Once upon a time—”

“Seriously?” he interrupts. “You’re going to tell me a bedtime story?” He sounds so outraged that she has to laugh.

“Hush, boy. Listen to your elders. You might learn something.”

“Fine.”

“Once up a time, there was boy. A golden boy, whom the whole world loved. One day, that boy was set adrift in the middle of an endless sea. He was not alone, for there were many others with him, but there were none he could trust.” She can tell that he’s listening now, that he understands this is no fairy tale with kings and queens and the bluest of skies. “To win his way free of this endless, treacherous sea, he had to do many things that he’d always been told were wrong. He had to lie, to cheat, to steal. He had to make those others with him believe that he was their friend, even though none of them were his. Surrounded by others, the boy was alone, and if he ever forgot that, he would pay the price. One by one, the others fell, to their own treachery, to the monsters that surrounded them in that cold and indifferent sea, until there were only a few left. And the golden boy found that he had to make a choice. He could let that uncaring sea take him, or he could take what the sea offered, but only by giving it its due.” She falls silent, letting him think about what she’d said.

After a time, he asks, “Is that the end?”

“No, boy. I don’t know the end of this tale yet. Perhaps you’ll tell me.”

“That story kind of sucks, Mags.”

“Well, then, you’ll just have to give it a good ending.”

Gale/Annie, are you really sure that you believe me when others say I lie?
Finnick/Johanna, and so it is just like you said it would be
life goes easy on me, most of the time

He taught her how to fish. You cast your net just like that, he told her, and then be still.

She did not have the patience. On the first day, she didn't catch a single living thing worth bringing back. But he walked her home, so she thought it wasn't such a loss.

He taught her how to fight. To kill. It was just like fishing, he said, only you're the bait.

She wasn't a very good bait. She slashed and ran and shoved too much to be a good bait. But she won, didn't she? Wasn't that what it's supposed to be for?

As she waited and pleaded (please oh please oh please) for any news of him, for anything from him, she closed her eyes and remembered how it was to fish.

He had cast the net and now, she had to be still.

Johanna (/Finnick), you oughta know
Oh my god this prompt... I couldn't help myself. I wrote this on my phone at work so I apologize for any mistakes...

I’d hate to bug you in the middle of dinner… Actually, that’s a lie; Johanna/Finnick; Slight spoilers for Mockingjay

“Thanks a lot for ruining dinner last night, Jo.” Finnick rubbed his hand tiredly over his face. “Annie mumbled about screams in her sleep all night long.”

“Awww, poor wittle Finnick.” Johanna flashed an insincere pout in his direction. “Married life getting to you already?” She leaned over and slowly traced her fingers along his jawline. “Or do you just miss making me scream all night long?” She breathed.

He let out a sharp hiss and jerked far away from her reach. “Don’t.”

Johanna laughed. “Oh Finn, don’t pretend you don’t think of me when you fuck her.” Her eyes narrowed and the evil grin that was spreading across her lips grew even sharper. “Come on baby, kiss and tell. Does she speak eloquently in bed? Is she perverted like me?”

Before she could blink, Finnick had her pinned against the wall, his arm digging deeper into her throat. “Shut up Mason. Shut the fuck up.” Anger flashed in his eyes and she laughed even harder.

“Regretting your choice I see.” She choked out. He pushed off on the wall, spinning away from her. “Oh Finny boy, you know I get off when you play rough.”

"Don't start shit with me Jo." Finnick growled, his back still to her. "I mean it."

"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't!" She shot back. "Because if you came to hear me say that "I'm happy for you" then you're just as unhinged as your lovely little wife."

There was a long pause before Finnick spoke. "I came to tell you that I'm going to the Capitol."

The silence that hung between them roared in Johanna's ears. She fiercely wished for a large pool to drown herself in. Anything but this conversation. "That's old news."

"If I don't make it back, I want you to watch out for Annie.." Finnick's voice broke. "And for..."

Johanna's teeth clenched tightly together. "Finnick, you can't ask me that.." She said behind closed eyes, willing them to seal shut to prevent the tears that were welling up from falling. "Anything but that.Please... I don't think I'm strong enough for that."

"Of course you are Jo." He said softly, slowly reaching up to stroke her hair. "Do it for me. When I think of the possibility that I might die, the thought of the people I have left to love together is the only thing that makes me sleep at night." Finnick smiled sadly at her. "You know that right? That I love you?"

His lips met hers and it was over. Far too brief to be considered a kiss.. She thought to herself.

Finnick lightly kissed her on her forehead before finally walking away from her forever. "You ought to know that anyways."

Victors, didn't they always say we were the lucky ones? / I guess that we were once
Finnick, we would all vote him most likely to be loved to death
Johanna (/Finnick/Annie), I stood in the way pretending that I was the one
Finnick, I hide in the spotlight, it's a great disguise
Katniss/Finnick, take me down like I'm a domino
Effie, post-Mockingjay
